The bold flower petal like motif throughout Selina’s painting are inspired by her observation of her country, especially in relation to the Kurrajong (Apeng) tree, its flowers and seeds.  This important tree that often features in aboriginal mythology can be found growing throughout her father’s country, Antarrengeny, situated in the Utopia Region of Central Australia.
