Product Description

The design elements in Marie’s paintings are associated with the Yerrampe- Honey ant Dreaming and Tyape- Witchetty Grub dreaming from her grandfather’s country Alkwepetye which is located 220kms north east of Alice Springs in Central Australia.

The linear design throughout the painting signifies awelye – women’s ceremonial body paint design and also the undulating landscape of Alkwepetye country.  Significant sites for the Honeyant story within this landscape are indicated by the more prominent dot work.

Yerrampe – Honeyant often features in Aboriginal mythology.
