Benedy’s painting represents many of the design elements associated with the Ahakey – Bush Plum which belongs to his father’s country Ilkawerne.

Ilkawerne lays approximately 200kms north east of Alice Springs in Central Australia.  It encompasses many stories which include; Ahakey – Bush Plum, Mulga Seed, Utnea – python, Prickle, Alpar – (herbaceous plant), small native grasses and Bush Coconut.   Central concentric circle is Aremela country the site where the Ahakeye grow, all the protruding lines show travelling tracks leading to and from this important site.
