Product Description
The inspiration for Selina’s painting has come from the designs and colour she observes in the flora throughout her country, Antarrengeny, situated in the Utopia Region of Central Australia. In particular the Akatyerre – bush tomato.
The Solanum centrale (desert raisin or bush tomato) is a small under- shrub that grows approximately 30cm high and has small purple flowers. The fruit produced is sticky and yellow when ripe, when dried it is a chocolate brown colour and resembles a raisin. The fruit can be eaten off the plant or dried. This small shrub dominates the spinifex country and grows in abundance after good rain
Background dot work reflects the country on which the Spinifex and akatyerre grows.
